Hello,

I am following a few tutorials on how to make an explosion/fire. Some of them use the attribute burn and others use fuel. Can I please know if there is any difference between the two?

Thank you very much.

hi dolexd,

it is a bit confusing as it seems a lot of parts have changed. there are some sections of the docs that describe the changes, but it can be confusing as a lot of the tutorials that exist were created at different points in time and use previous/legacy setups/terminology. here is a good doc that helps illustrate the difference between fuel and burn:

https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/pyro/differences.html

cheers

or simply put:
pyro : fuel ∩ temperature > burn > heat > smoke
sparse pyro : burn > flame > smoke

also, burn or flame can be used to add temperature and/or divergence(expansion)
