Houdini Cloth Or Syflex Plugin

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any luck with houdini cloth and character interaction?

Anyone have any insight regarding the syflex plugin, I haven't looked at it since 2004-2005...

just wondering where to focus time.

thanks

I have some exper. with syflex as maya's plugin, it fast and you almost all time get good feedback, ain't say nothing about H cloth coz of litte of experience with it.

I was playing with H9 cloth and quite like it now.

I think it is faster, got some tips in houdini on the spot book and general in dynamics dvd

almost certainly it is slower than syflex but I find it more flexible /robust

Syflex is good for digital doubles. It's fast, accurate and stable.

It's not that good for full blown CG characters. They usually have multiple layers of cloth, but Syflex does not solve cloth to cloth collisions.

To claim that H Cloth is faster than Syflex is ridiculous.

Syflex for Houdini is actually the very first version of the cloth system. It lacks many useful features from the latest releases - like the magnet constraint, that gives nice directability during simulation time.

H Cloth solves cloth to cloth, so if you have to deal with layers of cloth go for it.

It is slow and lacks flexible constraints.

I thought Zoki was comparing H9 cloth to H8 cloth?
