Hey everyone, unless you are somehow busy.

You might have noticed 9.5 went up for public consumption.

So what do you think. any problems, any unexpected improvements? Did they listen to you and put in that feature you were dying for and if so does it work how you want it.

I don't expect methodical examination and review right now, just posting here since i cant find another thread where people can give their initial findings.

So over the course of the beta. Tell everyone how good or bad SideFX have done .

I will add my thoughts later (like they really matter), but i would love to hear from those who really take advantage of the software to post their conclusions.

-andrew ;)

(wonder how long it will be before the Houdini 10 Wishlist comes out  )

Looking forward to the FBX export.

Arrays in VEX are very welcome!!!

Having been running 9.1 on a Mac Pro with Ubuntu, it's been blazingly fast; now we're able to dig the Mac OS-X too, damn near IRIX sweetness.

ive got problems running this thing on linux, (no icons, except in VOPS), i will ask SESI what to do later.

But CVEX vop type is a good one. Now you can make Fur CVEX shops in VOP's. Ramps is also a big thing for me.

Anyone found any Fluid changes to their liking?

It's a proto-install CHOP on Windows only (it uses DirectX).

Hmmmm .....

That sounds like a good free-ware CHOPs HDK project for Linux. Neato.

I'm finishing a few CHOPs that will read data from a tri-axial accelerometer and pressure/stress gauges, not too far away from reading data in real time from a joy stick.

Any particular joystick that you prefer?

If this could be hooked up as well, not only for navigation, but for example drawing a 3d curve in space and stuff like that, or drawing out clumps of particle clouds, it would be awesome!

Wow, that's pretty wild. I guess things have changed since Atari.

I'll check it out, it looks very useful.
