How to "convert" a Squishy object to RBD

Recommended Posts

Hi ALL!

I make a simulation, where some object must behave like a squishy object till first Impact, then must by converted to RBD object, but deformed from squishy.

I tried to make a SwitchSolver, it doesn`t work.

Which way must I take?

Thank you in advance!

I think you can use "Simple Switch" Example from Houdini Help, but instead of cloth node insert squishy

Seems to work for me. See attached. This has some one slightly complicated python expression in a SwitchValue SOP (check it out in the expression editor - Alt-E) that switches solvers when the object hits the ground plane (as opposed to the other obstacle), but otherwise it's pretty close to the Simple Switch example.

Hope that helps.
