Rising Sun Pictures Posted November 25, 2009 Share Posted November 25, 2009 Rising Sun Pictures, an Australian specialist Visual Effects house, is currently looking for talented and experienced FX TDs and FX Animators to join our Adelaide team. Some of our recent feature films include: “Australia,” “Terminator Salvation,” "Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince” and Peter Weir’s “The Way Back.” We are currently working on “The Last Dragon: Search for the Lost Pearl” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Both productions are based in our Adelaide studio. Responsibilities: • Taking visual, verbal and written briefs you will either run character FX systems, including muscles, hair & cloth to produce believable character animation, OR, you will run FX systems including rigid bodies, cloth, smoke, particles and fluids to produce complex effects animation. • Understanding and implementing the client’s and supervisor’s requirements. • Maintaining style and performance consistency across shots. Required Skills and Experience: • Prior experience working in a feature film environment. • Minimum 3 years Maya experience. • Houdini experience essential for roles on Harry Potter. • Scripting experience: Mel; Python • Excellent communication skills.
