  2. Hi, i am quite new to houdini and even more new to Fur in houdini. I followed some tutorials as well as the one Digital Tutorials Dynamics. I want to create some realistic grass.( something i had in the picture ) i think i am missing some steps. 1. Create fur 2. Clump them for randomness 3. Add a width attribute 4. make it a wire and give it dynamics 5. UV 6. Add a material ( houdini default grass ) Not sure how i should go about texturing it. please guide me of what i should do to make it look realistic. i have attached my .hip file as well grass.tiff grasstest.hipnc Thanks. -bhem
  3. hmm i tried that. it is still flickering. Is there any way around it ? like i want it to grow out but i dont animate the generations . -bhem
  4. Hi , i have been trying to animation some l-system to grow like some vines in a Time Lapse effect. But when i try to animate the Generations , the L-system keep flicking , like it will generate some other vines then goes back to the original shape. Why is it so? is there a way around it or ? vines_on_wall.hipnc I attached a picture of a vine and my .hip file thanks for helping -bhem
  5. hi , thanks for replying! previously i was texturing AFTER i deform the ground, now i am texturing before the ground and added a REST SOP as well , now the animated deforming textures is moving a little - think is my metaball that went down or is it not ! also i noticed tthat my sides is also been UV wrongly. any ideas on how to fix this? i attached my scene file as well XD glad if you can help ! ground_cracking_test2.hipnc test_crack_2.mov
  6. Hi , i did some fracture of the ground , and i found out my textures moves accordingly. First i used a magnet to push it up follow by a extrude to make them crack. However the texture moves @.@ Can anyone please guide me? i attached a low res render please tell me if you need my scene files. moving_cracks_render.mov
  7. hi , i cleaned up my scene and added in my geometry... but the cracks still looks strange to me and now my attribute ( of the curve with color driving the 2nd subdivision ) is poping ... can anyone please help .. leading_vinesR4.hipnc thanks -Bhem
  8. Hi , I am very new to houdini , done maya last time now i hope someone would enlighten me i saw some of the thread that have asked how to do a crack growing under. I followed some of the tutorials and came up with this. I am trying to simulate a vine growing under the asphalt. The cracks looks very even and CG, can anyone please help me or guide me on this? Here is my .hipnc file, kinda messy... sorry... [bricksoutv6v4v2v12.hipnc i used 2 metaball the first for creating the initial crack then the second one actually pops up for the debris as the vines comes through. both metaball will follow a carve curve which is derived from the L-system in houdini. After the magnet , it will do an extrude for the surface. when the second ones come through i used a color map to follow the carved curve ( Default L-system) to subdivde it further to make it looks like more cracks There is a problem with this, the textures actually moves with it as it subdivded. Am i heading towards the right direction? >.< its my first project on houdini.... Sorry and thanks for taking up your time for helping me >.<!
