Trying to figure out what would be the best pipeline for attaching groom to multiple creatures from an alembic.
So far this is what I have, but it would be great if some of you had better suggestions / ideas.
Alembic in - lets say 5 animated creatures.
create a guide deform node for each creature to attach groom
create hair gen node for each creature to generate hair - this gets packed and cached to disk (I wrote a python script that will do all this caching on its own) the caching takes a while but works..
So that's groom done and cached so off to lighting >
create a hair generate node for each cache, read in, unpack assign shader to each hair gen node.
Done.
I wonder if there is a way of just having one groom deform for all creatures, and one hair gen / cache for all which would mkae life easier but as far as i know there isn't
What do you guys think?
