Solitude
Does anybody know if there's a way to calculate ram requirements for fluids... ie for voxels: How much ram it will need with the current number of voxels, whether it be liquid or pyro? I'm looking to optimize as much as possible, and it'd be nice to know if I'm going to start swapping to disk or not during the sim. Does houdini do any sort of adaptive grid (if you are familiar with fumefx, you will know what I'm talking about) or does it fill up the ram as soon as it starts to calculate a grid? Also curious if there's any way to determine the same thing for particle fluids as well. I know the more deflector objects I have the more ram will be eaten, but still... any sort of guestimate is better than none. Thx!
