Tong Le
Hi there, I try to use RBD import a road with a sewer. I found that the help card of rbd obj said " If you want a hollow box, one method is to build one box inside the other and not use Laser Scanning. A more robust method is to just specify the inner box and use sign inversion. This treats everything outside of the box as inside, allowing the more robust Laser Scanning method to be used." However, I dont know how to specify the inner part. For instance, I wanna specify the sewer inside a road. Here is my simple file, anybody can give me some help? Thanks a lot! Sorry, here is the file. RBD_invert.hipnc Edited March 9, 2010 by Tong Le
wolf_cub_one
Hey Tong, What I would do is use a cookie operation for your drain/sewer. Usually, the rule is to never combine the shapes into one complex shape. It is preferable to have simple individual collision objects over having one complex collision object. Since your scene is simple, here is your scene with some revisions. I've added two sphere to demonstrate that it works. Hopefully, someone else will demonstrate another way to approach it so that you have other options.
