Tj Singh
Hey guys I want to simulate exploding fluids, kind of like the ones in the new Toyota advert and the sony bravia paint advert. I know those were done using live action elements but I would like to know how I could pull off a similar (if not the same) effect in digital using Houdini fluids? Or perhaps an alternative method within houdini? Cheers Tj
mightcouldb1
You should start by reading this post: Then you should watch the SPH tutorials on the sidefx site. What you are looking for is an SPH sim with high viscosity and probably playing around with the plasticity constant. I would encourage you to read the help docs on particle fluids and the particle fluid solver. Edited April 16, 2010 by mightcouldb1
Tj Singh
Hey Thanks for the link and the recommendations! I'll post my results once I'm done (and if they're successful)! Forgive me tho, but what's SPH? Cheers TJ
Tj Singh
LOL ok I knw what they are! Yeh that's what i've been using so far to simulate the fluids, i just need to make them explode (or emulate and explosive distribution of the fluids) That link helps out tho!
