efecto
Hi guys. I have been interested in playing with houdini for years. For the last few months, I have been slowly diving into houdini, and am willing to start coding in houdini. I use Maya as primary application, and have been coding in python/mel for some years now. So I can say that I'm very used to using external editors like jedit/maxya script editor/maya's default script editor for daily scripting, and have been executing scripts in both internally and externally. I have been reading some threads here and there, and noticed many of you seem to use vim for coding. Is it possible to run python scripts from vim? In Maya, I'm used to debugging my scripts in simple script editor and it is capable of runnign certain lines of code I select.. I'm wondering vim editor or houdini's inbuilt editor can offer such functions. I'm very interested in learning how you script(python) with houdini, and would like to learn from you as much as possible. Looking forward to hearing your answers. Cheers, D Edited June 16, 2010 by efecto
