gosch
Hi everybody! How can I change references to shaders when exporting RIB (default path to slo files is TMP). In other words, suppose I saved my vop rls network as digital asset (got otl, slo, sl files) to c:\sahders. How can I force Houdini to write full path to slo file in RIB archive. DanBode
On the renderman rop can specify the directory where your shaders are in the “shader path” box. It’s in the paths tab, which is in the properties tab.
gosch
Thanks for reply, but... The problem is not that my RIB archive "can't see" shaders. The problem is that I cant force houdini to write in RIB archive full path to the folder, where shaders are stored, as it writes full path to tmp folder, when vop rls network assigned. DanBode
ah sorry, didn't realize you were talking about rib archives. I think the problem is that that you still have the original vop shader applied to your object. Once you compile your vop shader to an otl, if you create a new shop from that digital asset, and assign that new shop to your object, it should export the rib archive with just the name of the shader. Then if your shader path is set correctly in your render rib, renderman should be able to find the shader. That being said I don’t know how to get Houdini to just write the full path to the shader in the rib archive.
