anoop
Hi, I am a newbie to Houdini and new to this forum.. How can I fracture objects or a grid using a image?...for doing RBD simulation.. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk111/Hello4114_2008/GlassShatter.png regards Anoop
hopbin9
Me too, I'd like to know how as well. The problem is that geom needs to be divided into poly groups, and the image provided only outlines the profiles of those groups. If you had an image where the fracture pieces were all filled in with solid colors, then you could transfer those colors to vertex points, then transform those colors into primitive groups, and use those groups as fracture pieces. I'd be tempted to use the image as a displacement map, then Boolean that mountain with a flat grid and break it up into primitive groups. I'm not sure if that is the best approach. Anyone else?
