Mantra - does illuminance loop position change L vector?

(Whoops, already posted in Rendering, didn't spot there was a Shaders subgroup too...)

Wondering if anyone can illuminate me:

If I pipe a different position than global P into an illuminance loop, inside of the loop, does the vector-from-surface-to-light change to reflect the new position, or will it still be the vector from the original shading sample position?
