ranxerox
hey all.. I have an rbd sim which I'm exporting to maya.. I've written a little script to import .clip files into maya and attach the animation to the original maya objects (I exported these from maya originally and simmed them in houdini). I have a little chopnet which extracts the channels from the dopnetwork and adds the t? and p? channels together so the animation corresponds correctly to the animation in maya. This is all working in my test cases, however when I run it on a larg-ish sim, the 'update' button on the dynamics chop takes ages (forever from what I can tell ie. greater than 10 times as long as the sim itself should take). I've tried caching the .sim files for the autodopnetwork .. putting these in the 'explicit cache', using a file dop.. still seems to not want to finish the 'update' process on the dynamics chop. According to the docs the 'update' button cooks the simulation to get the animation channels.. so maybe it doesn't even matter that the simulation is cached ? any and all suggestions are welcome. thanks -ranxx
ranxerox
ok ok ok, my bad, it seems the start and end ranges weren't set correctly (frames, not seconds). Nothing to see here.. -ranx hey all..
