pclaes
Hi, I recently read this thread over on cgtalk where a new houdini user shares his first experience with the software and although I had some fun writing a post sharing some of my own first experiences from several years ago. I was thinking that perhaps it is a good idea if users were to share some of their initial experiences(joys & frustrations) with the software. A lot has changed in recent years to attract new users and help them to get started, so perhaps some of the new users could post their experiences too. For the others it might be a trip down memory lane . Whether you want to make it funny of keep it serious is up to you, but keep it polite . Eventually this may feed into feedback for sidefx to improve their product, their learning environment and learning materials. You can read the thread here: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?p=6956467#post6956467 cheers, Peter
Netvudu
My case isn´t that good for that thread because I was hand-guided by a very good instructor so I knew what to expect at every mouse click for the first steps. I do have some objections with that guy´s opinion, because he based 90% of the problems on his own hardware issues, which to be honest, seemed to be a problem mainly on his side. It´s quite unfair (not to mention a bit unprofessional) to judge a product based on one´s own hardware problems... But I don´t think it´s meant to be taken too seriously either
