blur959 Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Hi all, I am trying to create a ripple/wave displacement effect based on a collision by a sphere. The effect is quite similar to the effect in Thor, when Thor strikes the hammer down and it creates the wave/ripple like breaking effect. I looked through the ripple sop(It creates the ripple based on points) and a file that creates a ripple in vopsop. But they are not really what I am looking for. I was wondering if someone could give me a head start on how to start creating the ripple/wave displacement effect based on a collision? Many thanks. Adam Ferestad Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 I have a ripple interference tutorial on my site you might want to look at. It won't help you immediately, but it will give you some added realism to your effect when you get it done. I also remember seeing a video a while back where the guy created a ripple in a plane using a collision of some sort. I think it was one of the videos on the SideFX site.
