JaydenDP
Hi there, Wonder if anyone can help, Im trying to use an object as a sink for the temperature field in DOPS but I can only get it to sink the density from my volume. Any idea how to go about doing that? Thanks in advance Jay
old school
The sink tool on the shelf was purposely designed to get rid of density. It is of great use in liquid fluid simulations to reduce fluid in a simulation. In a smoke or pyro sim, it removes density. To erode temperature, it is easiest to take your geometry, convert to a fog field, then using the shelf tool "Add Field", add a new field to your smoke or pyro container. This creates a new field for you. Just add a new Gas Calculate DOP and mix in your custom field with temperature. See the attached hip file and notes in the networks. sink_temperature_H11.001.hip
JaydenDP
Thanks for the quick response, and the file! I'm trying that out now in my scene to see if it'll work for me, but sounds like a good work around the sink. Will let you know how I get on. Thanks again, much appreciated Jay
JaydenDP
Works perfectly thank you so much, dont know how long I would have been stuck trying to figure that one out, really need to start picking up more with the custom solvers and all that. Thanks Jay
