jim c
I'm following along a tutorial from CMI on Fractal and volumes and the guy makes use of a VEX Volume Procedural shader. This appears to be only in H11, is that correct? Is there something I can use in H10 or am I out of luck?
old school
You can author and render volumes going the i3d route. It is a two step process where you first author the i3d tile-based volume files to disk with a dedicated 3D Texture Generator ROP referencing a dedicated Image3D Texture generator SHOP with VOPs inside it. Once the i3d volume files are authored to disk, you can then reference them with a Mantra i3D Volume Procedural. See the attached hip file. i3d_workflow_file.hip
