We are currently seeking FX Artists/TDs for immediate openings at our Burbank, CA studio. Our next film, Wreck-It Ralph, features a wide array of FX challenges. We're seeking savvy FX people ready to bring creative solutions and amazing visuals to the worlds of our film. Responsibilities: • Designing and creating a variety of visual effects through procedural animation and modeling techniques, dynamic fluid and rigid simulations, particle systems, and other creative techniques from conception through completion in a timely manner • Lighting and rendering of effects elements along with creating a composite network representing the usability of the elements • Brings authorship, emotional impact, and art direction to various effects through a creative artistic vision while meeting the directors vision in an efficient manner • Work with FX Supervisor in designing technical approaches and establishing artistic goals for projects or sequences • Participates as a proactive team member in determining various design and technical solutions • Challenges effects status quo by developing innovative tools and or techniques Requirements: • Advanced procedural and dynamic simulation experience with 3D effects packages such as Houdini, Maya, or equivalent software, compositing tools, i.e. Nuke/Shake, experience with Renderman highly desired • Linux and scripting ability in Python preferred, shader and C++ skills also applicable • Strong understanding of animation fundamentals, design, and composition; good observation skills of natural phenomena, comprehension of physics, and ability to implement • Takes direction well, embraces and participates in a culture of continual innovation and change • Strong communication skills, collaborative, works well within a team, as well with other departments.
