chiess
Hi, I don't know why this happens and couldn't figure out where or how to change it. My problem is, that I am using a bulge SOP, which stops "bulging" after the initial contact of each metaball. Please have a look at the screenshot below to understand my problem. The first contact in picture 1 works as it should be. In the next frame (picture 2) the bulding basically stops working on the y-axis. The mesh still gets transformed on x and z. If anyone has an idea where to look at or how to fix that, please let me know. It seems like an easy problem, but unfortunately I was not able to solve it so far. I am using Houdini 11. (I had a bit of a break in using Houdini for a couple of months, so it might be because of that... I just forgot many little things ) Thanks, Chris
chiess
Ok, I think I've found the problem. In my pop-network I am using the ground plane as collision object for the particles. The behavior of the collision is set to "Die on Collision". In that case, after the first contact (which worked), the particle got flagged to get killed and therefore, the second frame had no particle left for the bulge. I am still wondering though, why the mesh transforms on x and z in the second frame? And information would be great! After a bit more try and error, it really depends on the speed of the particles and where the collision is happening. I've simply created another plane with an offset underneath and that is now my new collision object. Results are way better. Chris
