woodenduck
Hello people, I have some sop geo with normals that I have adjusted to point in specific directions. I would like to emit smoke form this object and to use the normal direction to control the velocity field of the smoke sim. I've played around with creating a vel attribute based on normal values and turning the geo in to a volume, then bringing that in to the sim as a vector field but I can't seem to get it to work. So basically - How do I turn normal data in to velocity data? - and how do I attach velocity data to a volume? Many thanks for any help, WD
sadhu
Did you try shelf tools like source from vol / points /surface to convert your geo to a source ? If you have a geometry with point normals, use shelf tool source from vol /points/ surface. It adds fluid source sop in the network. Go to velocity vol para on this sop and set the source attribute to N.
