francois
Hey guys, I have an early pass at punching bullet holes in a sheetmetal using cloth and the enable_tearing attribute, based off of one of the sidefx example files. The problem is that in order to make the cloth sheet (ie: the sheetmetal piece) stay in place and look stiff, it uses a strong drag field. The downside is that the metal bits which separate from the main sheetmetal piece just hover in the air instead of inheriting the velocity of the bullets. Is there a way in Houdini to test whether there are polygonal faces/islands which have separated from the main mesh, and then have them bypass the drag Dop node (using groups) so they properly inherit the rest of the dynamics? Or maybe I am going at this the wrong way for Houdini (this is my 2nd week using it..). Thanks for the help!
