woodenduck
Has anyone had any trouble controlling flip particle lifespan using a particle fluid emitter? Does it need some other parameter to be activated in order to work? As far as I can see it has no effect whatsoever on the lifespan of my particles. ikarus
Do you have reseeding turned on? the basic life attribute wont work with reseeded particles as new ones are birthing / dying constantly
woodenduck
Hi ikarus, No, I don't have reseeding turned on. Any other thoughts as to what might cause this? I've attached a very simplified .hip file, in case there are any glaring mistakes I've made that you could spot. Cheers, WD flipLifespan.hip
bloomendale
Because all pop solvers in Particle Fluid Emitter DOP have their integration step suppressed. So they don't apply new vel, pos, age, up-vector etc. You can turn on "Apply rules" checkbox in the Solver tab of the pop solvers. But i'd also add Suppress rule POP in all chains with all suppressions enabled to get only age attrib integrating.
