[Q]cloud changing alpha trough their life

I have an Image 3D setup for using metaballs and a POP network.

I made particle changed transparent in alpha through $LIFE by ramp of color POP.

Metaballs or spheres copied by particles template have nice alpha changing.

But Atmosphere-fog with Vex 3D texture Fog and Vex Meta Cloud didn't change alpha by life changing.

Cloud effect is wonderful, but I wish, when particles die, cloud will fade off.

How can I do for this effect?

I'm a biginner in Houdini, and not good at english.

It is true, to my knowledge, that you cannot effect the alpha when using the I3D. What you can do is adjust the scale of the particles based upon there $LIFE or $AGE. Very similar to what you had done witht alpha. you could do this either with and expression or a "spare" channel.

hey all

Is there anyway i can override the "density" attr after copying the metas onto the particles,

much like, when u override a shaders color with the point sop?

the copy stamp metaweight seems to work quiet nicely, but i've heard that another way is to script the "density" attr ;)

any ideas :)
