catching callback errors

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a python callback attached to a button on a custom node, and sometimes it raises a hou.OperationFailed, due to an error while cooking.

I have another script that presses the button but I can't seem to catch the hou.OperationFailed with a try, except condition...

Does anyone have any experience/example with this working?

Thanks.

I don't think this will work given that the callback gets run in its own little context that can't return or except back to the call to press that button. You might be better to have your script call the function directly instead of pressing the button to do it. That way you could properly try/except the call and handle it as you wish.
