LOD pscale in FLIP sim?

Hi all, currently I am dealing with a pond with a big range in depth, to produce an fine enough result I have to reduce the particle separation parm down for the little particles really close to the camera, but when I do this the whole pond would generate an extremely enormous quantity of particles, which is unnecessary to the part that far away from camera.

So is there any method to get a LOD result? Thanks!
