ashe
Hi guys, I am Houdini beginner and I am stuck with particles and popnet. I have a popnet generating particles and then copy node assigns platonic solid to each particle so all my particles look like cubes. The thing I want to achieve is, to make the effect look less uniform. This means that I want each particle to have different shape. I am planning to use polyreduce node, to reduce dodecahedron from platonic solid to lower poly objects. At this stage, when I change the polyreduce, all the particles change. Which means only cubes emit, or only tetrahedron emit instead of each particle having different shape. My question is, how can I assign different shape to each of the particles? Is using a popnet not suitable for this? I am attaching my houdini file, maybe it will make it easier for you guys to understand.Individial_particles.hipnc Thank you very much for your time Have a nice day! ~Ashe
Annon
Look at copy sop and stamping. Here's a quick scene I made for you, I made a fauxIdAttr, but you'll have an id from particles so don't need that. copyStampExample.hip
