ghidra
If you make a basic pyro sim, and cache it. So its just a plum of smoke. Can I then put an arbitrary object in the middle of that smoke, a sphere for example, make an sdf, and use the gradient to displace the cached density? For the effect I want to achieve, this would be a perfect way to go about it. I dont want to make a collision object, because I want something far more editable, and less physically accurate. Any help in this direction would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much. jimmy
Annon
You could do of course, but it'll be more accurate as a collider object. Here's an example scene: http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini12.0/examples/nodes/sop/attribfromvolume/DeformVolume
