using advected scalar field as mask for force

I am trying to use the temperature field as a mask for a field force.

Here's a picture of what I have set up.

Using a fetch data to grab the temperature field.

It looks like the data is there in the details view, but it has no effect as a mask.

What is normally the work flow for doing something like this. I feel like either the scalars are somewhere in the range larger than 0 to 1, or that I am missing some node to tell the mask node that this is indeed a scalar field.

Hey Jimmy,

Just write actual object id or object name instead of "$OBJID" in fetch data dop's "source object " parameter and see if it is giving you the expected result. Where there is temperature I am applying force in negative direction otherwise smoke is going up in y direction.

turns out that my setup was working actually. Just user error.
