stiliyan
Hi,I am trying to figure out how the fur setup works in Houdini. I am using the Apprentice version, but I guess it applies to all versions of Houdini. My current issue is related to the guide curve radius when applied for thin objects (like the ear of the dog in my examples). Here is what I do: The guide curves I am trying to use in Houdini are imported from Maya. One of the areas where I get more artifacts are the ears of the dog. My guide curves from the back side of the ear are interacting with my curves at the front. The only solution I found so far is to reduce their radius which reduces the area of influence. The problem is that after I reduce the radius, many bold spots appear as a result. Because of that I have to bump the number of guide curves significantly, which makes their use almost irrelevant, since they are hard to control and simulate in animation.I will be grateful if somebody throw some tips on how this is done, or am I missing something…..Thanks in advance. The attached pics are showing renders with guide curves and radiuses at 0.2, 0.5 and 1 Stiliyan Edited January 14, 2014 by stiliyan
