whodini
I've been able to create an extra image plane in my mantra rop with the vex variable "density" so I can have the density of the smoke I'm rendering as a separate layer in comp. Do you know why it always ends up showing up under the "other" section of nuke and not as "density" in nuke? Did something change recently in houdini that causes this to happen? jkunz07
I think that this has always been the case. Nuke doesn't like AOVs that are floats, if you use a vector AOV nuke should pick up the name correctly.
whodini
ah! thats what it was. Thanks for reminding me. I had then names working fine a long time ago, but couldn't remember what I did differently. I completely forgot you always need a vector or color output not aov, nuke reads rgb, or 3 scalars. Thanks again.
Annon
If you put double underscores in the output it should work, so: __density
