borisb2
For a customized Flip Sim I'd like to use parts of an existing Flip-Sim for new emission and collision. But I can't use the Flip-particles themselves - I need to use the created surface-fields. For that I'm reshaping the sdf (coming form vdb from particles) and cut it / bool it into sections (with vdb-combine etc.) . Now for collision its no problem, I can just use that new surface-field as collision etc. But how do i actually emit straight from an sdf? First I have no velocity (coming through vdb from particles), and secondly where do I source new particles for emission into new Flip-Sim? Converting to polygons and using Fluid-source to create new surface and vel-field would work, but that seems wrong to me .. and is double-conversion. Or is that the way? thanks for any help .. might be trivial question, but I'm somehow stuck at the moment Edited October 13, 2014 by borisb2
