n4vdeep
Hi I hope that I have posed this in the right place. I am following a tutorial on cmiVFX called Houdini Dynamic Pipeline and I am and at the end of Meshing and Displacement part of the tutorial. The problem I am having is that my render is coming out looking like and army camouflage rather than remotely ocean like. I have followed all the steps the tutor has and my nodes are set up the same way with the exact same parameters and values but still doesn't look the same as his. If anyone can help I'd be highly appreciative as I've been trying for days now to fix this by playing with different values and rewriting out the displacement maps etc but nothing i chance affects the end result. I am using Houdini 13 and so is the instructor in the videos. I have attached some images to show my problem, my render is the one on the right and the tutors is on the left, mine looks more like camouflage. Please help Many Thanks Nav
SSFX
From the look of it, I would say some attributes being misused in the shader or you have two mesh overlapping each other one with the displacement and the other without. It's really hard to tell from a picture. Can you post your scene so we take a closer look at what is going on?

n4vdeep
hey man, just went back into my scene on your suggestion that there was overlapping geo there and guess what......there was!! So this was the reason why my test render looked a mess. I had the base sim on so that was being rendered too. Man Thanks a lot. Turning it off fixed the issue.
