metamarch() coming

In the Houdini Journal I saw the following intresting entry

Friday, November 5, 2004

Houdini 7.0.240: The metamarch() function was added to VEX. The primary use of this function is for ray-marching through metaball fields. Please see the online documentation for more information.

Does is mean, we won't need to create any i3d files first to use ray-marcher shading on particles ?!

If so, I wanna new Apprentice Edition :lol:
