jkunz07
I'm using deformation motion blur on geometry and am having trouble getting other attributes to blur / update over the duration of the shutter. I've added 'vm_segmentattrs' (http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini14.0/props/mantra#vm_segmentattrs) property to the geo object I'm rendering. In that field, I've specified 'Cd pscale' The geo I'm rendering has 'Cd' and 'pscale' attributes which change over the duration of the shutter, yet in my renders it seems as those attributes are only evaluated at the start/opening of the shutter. Has anyone had success using 'vm_segmentattrs' or am I not going about this properly? Edit: I looked at an .ifd and can verify that the Cd, and pscale attributes are being saved for all the geometry time samples. I guess somehow mantra is not picking this up from the .ifd? Here is the file I setup to test this: attrib_mblur_test.hip Edited August 26, 2015 by jkunz07
narbuckl
Have you timeblended you're geometry so that mantra can access subframe data?
jkunz07
In that test I just keyframed the deformation so the data was there. I asked sidefx and they said Mantra does not use 'vm_segmentattrs', it's intended to be used with procedurals. Mantra can only blur P over the shutter, no other attrs like Cd, Alpha, or pscale
