animated soft body's

hey all

When I try create a simple soft body that collides ie (a car falling and drops onto the ground- its great :D

but how can i have animation on an object and then have the softbody deform it when the object collides with something.

ie. ive animated the car doing its thing, then have the softbody sop crush the car as it collides. basically having the dynamics as secondary animation.

a literal solution i would of thought is informing the softbody sop that the object is changing.

much like under the collision pop where u have to set that the object is animated.

anyone have any ideas how this can be achieved ?

i have a feeling this is a little more complex than a little button i didnt see ;)

thanx in advance

As far as i can understand, you are talking about Rigid and SoftBody dynamics used togather.

Usualy i'm doing this kind of stuff in Maya, for now Houdini is not capable to do it <_<

The softBody POP is operating on SOP level and cant see the changes applied by the rigidBody to the transform node above it.

I believe that is possible to hack it somewhow, but i'm not sure how accessible is the rigidBody POP data ( velocity ).

hey peship

yeah, Im also from a maya background,

so i dont think its that much a combination of active rgb's and soft, just cause i want alot of control over the animation.

i think its more like soft body's driven by goals and when it collides, their surface tension decreases and eventually gives in.

u bouncing between packages alot?
