aracid
hey all I know this is sorta not a direct houdini question, but it does end up being a problem in houdini. When doing a matchmove, as far as i understand, its better to do a 3d camera matchmove with the open gate or full image from telecine rather than something that has been cropped or with a animated crop. I know some 3d matchmove software allows u to move the prinicipal point so that it accomodates for the adjustment in telecine, but how can that be fed into houdini? lets say u have the full version for the matchmove and cropped for the actual composition. now one solution is to render out the footage at a higher res and digitally zoom into the image and match it with the desired footage, but thats not very intuitive and u dont end up composing the shot in 3d with the actual shot in mind and not to mention the render times. anyone ever run into this problem? all the best aracid
