particle explosion source

Hello.This is a topic that ilm show their inhouse tools.At about 16:53 they showed some project.I see all of explosion was sourced by particle.They have a very character motion

I try to debuild those but i found its difficult to make my particles under control.Was that used some noise field or volume advect force?I can see some flip behavior in particle motion.

So,how can we get that kind of particle motion. Or any idea will appreciate。
