localstarlight
I have some fractured geometry I'm trying to blow up, but it's not working in the way I was expecting. I found a thread on here about using the POP Metaball Force to simulate explosions, so I'm trying something similar to that. (Here is the thread) I have attached my current hip file. I have three questions, based on this project file – if someone with experience would be kind enough to take a look: 1. Why does this setup seem to just 'kick' the whole frame, rather than blow apart the fractured geometry at the point where the metaball is? I was hoping to create a kind of explosion of geometry at the position of the metaball, which would then cause the frame to collapse. 2. Is this the wrong approach to something like this, and if so, can you recommend an alternative method for what I'm trying to achieve? 3. Unrelated to the explosion, I wonder if anyone can tell me why some of the pieces on the bottom of the structure start falling through the floor as soon as the simulation begins? They are flush with the ground plane, so I would have thought they would rest there rather than be pushed through it. I really appreciate anyone taking the time to have a look at this. Thanks!
