shawn_kearney
I have a scene which I was sort of struggling with getting render times down enough to render locally and figured that since I'm rendering a load of points as circles I'd give PBR micropoly a shot. Unsurprisingly, it does render the points very quickly. However, I also have emissive volumes inside of these glossy refractive, subsurface scattered sphere thingies. I wasn't expecting those to see any significant improvement, but yet it has. In fact, under micropoly they aren't a lot slower than the particles. What gives? According to the documentation PBR Micropoly isn't supposed to provide a lot of advantage. over PBR Raytracing, and yet I'm rendering what had taken three minutes now in about 45 seconds. shawn_kearney
Nevermind. On closer examination micropolygon is giving a lot of noise thatwas confused for particles. Feel free to ignore this thread.
