pbowmar
Hello again, So, on Suse9.1 I can now compile but the .so will not load. I get: Houdini DSO - error on '/home/pbowmar/houdini7.0/dso/showparms.so' /home/pbowmar/houdini7.0/dso/showparms.so: failed to map segment from shared object: Operation not permitted What does that mean, and how do I stop it? Note: The exact same code compiles and runs OK on Redhat Fedora Core 1. Cheers, Peter B
BrianK
not that it's much help, but on our two Suse machines, when I need a custom sop, I compile under Redhat9 & copy the dso over. I'm sure someone has a real fix, but as a band-aide, that works. FYI: I've had great luck under Ubuntu re: Houdini & HDK. I don't know what you're trying to get out of Suse & this is not place for which Linux is better, but... as an FYI.
