EuniceC
Hi, I have recently learnt about the wave deformer method where a grid is made and a deformer tool is used to deform the mesh and create a wave-like effect. I was wondering what are the differences in using the wave deformer or the ocean waves shelf tool method? Certainly the wave deformer method will take less time to be computed. But aside from that, which one is a better method to use? I'm pretty new to Houdini and i'm trying to learn more about the the different methods in creating effects and using VEX and VOPs. Also, I found this link : https://www.pluralsight.com/courses/houdini-creating-custom-solvers-vex-wrangles-2433 but this is for Houdini15. I was wondering if the bulk of it is still applicable to Houdini16? I know this is an advanced tutorial, so if any of you have any pointers towards a more beginner or intermediate level tutorial of this kind, do point me to it. Thanks!
