katiestrophe
Hi there! Not sure I've posted in the right place, apologies if I haven't! Still very new to Houdini and trying to create a scene with an asteroid with some instanced "rocks" to simulate the breakup of it through the atmosphere. I am having an issue with the geometry I have been instancing on my particles. I have basically only used the set up from the shelf on the particles but I only appear to be seeing the instanced geometry with instance guides not the geometry itself. How can I visualise the actual geometry being output or can someone possibly explain what I am doing wrong? Have attached my current scene for anyone to take a look. Any help would be MAAAAASSSIVELY appreciated! Thank you! meteorscene.hipnc Edited June 27, 2019 by katiestrophe
KarlRichter
Your scene is using some external hda so it doesn't open right for me, but I suspect that you are over the geo display limitation. It is very easy to go over this threshold with instances because it's so easy to make so many of them! The default is set to 20 million polygons in the display options -> optimize tab.
