Pop wind affected by vellum constraint property

I have made a "fairly" procedural balloon setup consisting of a few balloons and strings tying them to the ground. Simple vellum setup.

I have also made a random pop timing attribute that drives the pop wind so that when it's time to for the balloon to pop, in theory the balloon pops and the pop wind dies out at the same time so the balloon drops to the ground.

Now the thing is that the wind works as intended with a simple vexpression like wind *= @first_wind; on the pop wind

However when I increased the pstretch and tore the balloons using another attribute driven by the same random timing for the popping, the balloons pop but it suddenly ignores the popwind vexpression.

Meaning I see the attributes in the geo spreadsheet changing but it doesn't seem to have changed anything and the balloons are still affected by the wind even though wind velocity is 0.

It's driving me nuts cause I'm not sure if somehow the points for the vellum geometry changed after breaking so the wind doesn't work.

Or maybe my node setup is in the wrong order?
