ykcosmo
I have a feeler animation to make , and I have an idea that use ik to the feeler and then make dynamics. can I make dynamics with IK chains in DOPs?
TheUsualAlex
I think you can do a series of RBD constraint or something in DOPs, no? There is a chain example in the RBD Constraint DOP if that's what you're after.
sibarrick
Can you doing something with the wire solver and avoid the ik completely maybe?
grasshopper
RBD or IK for this sounds a little bit like overkill to me. For insect antennae in the past I simply procedurally- or hand-animated curves and copied geometry to the points. Fast and simple.
Ratman
Feeler animation? I have no idea what you mean, but if you're trying to make something like antenas, or something that just dangles dynamicaly, chains and whatnod. Yeah you can use joints (bones) and have them being driven dynamically, i did this for my last show in Maya for chains, but rebuilt it in Houdini very easily, and the result is pretty good, and can have another layer of hand key animation, so you can blend and be able to direct it.
