kai.scorpio
How can i get an environment map to be displayed as the background (instead of just black). I followed the directions in the ambient occlusion help and ended up with the attached file. background.hipnc Sorry if i missed something obvious, I'm just starting with houdini. Oh and the map I'm using is a converted version of the beach_cross.hdr at http://www.debevec.org/Probes/. Thanks for any help! EDIT: I think i misunderstood the help topic, maybe its only telling me how to use it for the shade of the objects, as if the image was the background... so now I have two questions: How do I use an image as the background? Is it possible to use one image as an environment map for the whole scene, so I don't have to map it to every reflective material? EDIT2: Another question popped up, so I'll add it here; How do I reduce the "grainyness" of an area light's light, because even with 40 "area samples" in the area light tab it is still quite grainy?
