Optimizing Hardware Settings for Best Performance with Houdini on ProLiant DL160

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to run Houdini  on a ProLiant DL160 server equipped with an Octa Core 1.70GHz Xeon processor, and I want to get the best performance possible.

I’m looking for advice on:

  • Optimal hardware settings to maximize rendering and simulation speeds.
  • Memory and storage configurations that would complement Houdini’s workflow.
  • Whether upgrading the GPU would significantly impact performance, or if CPU power is more critical for this version.
  • Any BIOS or system tweaks that could enhance processing efficiency.

Has anyone used a similar setup or have insights on getting the most out of this hardware with Houdini? Any tips or recommended configurations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
