Fluid Interpenetration

Hi..

This is my first post in the forum.

I'm doing a very simple fluid simulation with a Sphere a the Source and a funnel as the collision geometry. I already have the the collision object set to 120 divisions but I still see fluid interpenetration with the geometry. Some times the fluid would just stop and do nothing.

Any idea what could be causing this??

Seems your volume representation of the funnel is not accurate enough:

Not enough detail in collision volume, extrude the surface of that cup outwards a bit.

Or make the funnel into a solid object (like a cylinder) and subtract from a box with a cookie, use the resulting geometry as a collision object in dops.

Either way you end up having enough volume for the collision.

Thank you guys....

I remodeled the funnel with the cookie sop as pclaes suggested, and it seems to be working fine now. But I don't see why was it interpenetraiting before. The geometry had more detail, and more subdivisions for collisions than the one I'm using right now.
