VEX Builder - COP in a surface shader

I have a Surface Shader I'm putting together in VEX Builder, and I want to give the user the ability to feed a COP into it. Say as a simple example Cf is hooked up to a Lighting Model and I want to stick a COP into the Diffuse channel of the Lighting Model. Anyone know how to go about doing this?
